Our method of Chewing Gum removal is to use super heated steam at 175 C delivered at 8 bar pressure, using 25lts of water per machine in 8 hours continues use, also injecting a biodegradable, non caustic detergent on to the Chewing Gum to dissolve the gum to a fine non sticky powder that sweeps or vacuums up when dry.
We heat the chewing gum with super heated steam and at the same time inject the detergent onto the chewing gum whilst agitating the gum with a wire (on hard surfaces) or Nylon (on soft surface or carpet) brush. This dissolves the chewing gum in about 3 to 6 seconds per piece.
Chewing Gum Removal Outside (any hard surface): The system works on all outside surfaces such as Asphalt, Concrete, Block Paving, Metal, Natural Stone and Wood. After removing the chewing gum, where necessary we sweep the surface and then leave to dry naturally, this will leave a clean spot from where the gum as been removed and this will blend in in days, depending on the pedestrian flow and the weather.
Chewing Gum Removal Entrance Mat Cleaning: We leave the entrance mat in the well so as not to disturb the mat, we remove all the chewing gum from the mat in the same way and then go over the mat with a rotating bristle brush carpet cleaner. This removes the soil and the excess detergent from the mat leaving it clean and looking like new.
Pressure Washing: Where pressure washing is required we use machine delivering hot water at 90°C, and 100 bar pressure, through a floor hood to prevent any splashing of water, to surrounding buildings or people.
Coned Areas and Barrier Tape: Where necessary we use 26-inch high cones, red and white barrier tape and place work in progress signs at the appropriate places.
Graffiti Removal: Steam Clean UK can remove graffiti from almost any surface working closely with chemical manufacturers trying to keep up the numerous and new forms of graffiti mediums being used by the graffiti artist. We find the right type of chemical to loosen the graffiti. We then carefully agitate the solvent chemical into the graffiti to loosen and soften it. On brick surfaces we pressure wash both solvent and graffiti. On polycarbonate surfaces we carefully wash the surface down. Any fallen debris on the floor or lower surfaces are rinsed away. All solvent chemicals used have a product data sheet that can be provided before the work commences at your request. We normally supply these data sheet on the acceptance of a contract that has been agreed between Steam Clean UK and yourself , but in some cases the customer requests a copy to be supplied to the site where the work is being carried out. All our vans carrying the solvents also have a data sheet kept within the vehicle for safety purposes.
